The global advertising market reached $495 billion this year, up +3.8% on 2011. The US remains the largest market with $153 billion in advertising revenues. Japan, China, Germany and the UK complete the top five.
The UK remains the largest online advertising market in Europe and is the first to have exceeded ?5 billion, accounting for 26 percent of all European online advertising.2 In both the UK and Germany, video advertising has already crossed the ?100 million threshold.
